Time to review your Individual Health Insurance Plan!
Individual insurance consumers have a window of time each year to evaluate and make changes to their insurance plans through the Washington Healthplanfinder. This is referred to as the Open Enrollment Period, which runs November 1 – January 15. Individual insurance plans can change every year, so it is very important to review your current coverage to make sure your plan continues to meet all your expectations and needs. Information and details regarding the 2023 plans became publicly available on November 1.
In addition to potential plan changes impacting your current insurance, there may be new plans available in your coverage area for 2023. We are here to help you review and compare these plans to your current insurance and help you find the right fit for your specific needs.
Annual Notice of Change: If you are currently enrolled in an Individual insurance plan through the Washington Healthplanfinder, you should have already received a notice from your insurance company and/or the Healthplanfinder describing any changes to the plan benefits or premiums. You will want to review this carefully and maintain a copy for your records. After reviewing, if you wish to keep your current policy, it will rollover into the next year as long as the plan is available in 2023. If you want to make a change or consider other plans, please give us a call as we represent nearly every insurance plan available. Please remember it is important that you log into your Healthplanfinder account to update your income and any other pertinent information every year before calling us.
Accessing your online account: In order to compare plans most insurers require you to work through the Washington HealthPlanFinder. If you already have an account, you can log in and “Shop for Plans”. If you do not already have an account, you can create one in order to see all available plans in your county. The Income to qualify for Tax Credits has been raised. Many individuals who did not qualify before may now qualify for assistance in paying their monthly premiums. But even if you do not qualify for Tax Subsidies, to enroll into most plans, you must have a Washington HealthPlanFinder account. This can be done at www.wahealthplanfinder.org. If you need assistance give our agents a call and they will be happy to help you.
If I do not make a plan change, do I still need to update my information? Anyone who purchased their Insurance Plan through the Washington HealthPlanFinder needs to update their information for 2023. It might be best to wait to make changes to income until after November 16th or the changes could impact your December Premiums.
Enrollments must be completed by December 15, 2022 for a January 1, 2023 start date!
*Enrollments between December 16, 2022 and January 15, 2023 will have a February 1, 2023 start date.
