Many people in Western Washington have been affected by storms and flooding in the past couple of months. Unfortunately, natural disasters happen and they are out of our control. If you are someone who was affected, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides for a Special Election Period (SEP) for beneficiaries impacted by a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency or Major Disaster Declaration.

This SEP is for Medicare beneficiaries who were prevented from submitting a Medicare Advantage  or Prescription Drug plan enrollment request during another valid election period, like the Annual Election Period, due to a declared disaster. If you live in one of the following counties and did not make a plan selection or change during another valid election period, you may be eligible for this SEP.

Qualifying Counties:

Clallam

Cowlitz

Grays Harbor

Island

Jefferson

Lewis

King

Kitsap

Pierce

Mason

San Juan

Skagit

Snohomish
