Contract Negotiations Update

Just as we had hoped to see when this negotiation was first announced, EvergreenHealth and UnitedHealtchare have reached an agreement on contract terms.  This announcement can be found on EvergreenHealth’s website here.

EvergreenHealth based out of Kirkland, WA and UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions (UHC) have not come to an agreement for a contract effective January 1st, 2016 for UHC Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (UHC MA HMO) plans.  The lack of a contract agreement could leave thousands of UHC MA HMO members in King County Washington without coverage to see providers nor use the EvergreenHealth facilities.  These contract negotiations happen quite often and history tells us that it is very difficult to predict what will happen in this situation.

We have put together a FAQ section below:

Contract Negotiations Update #2

On November 25th, the latest information we have received is that both UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions and EvergreenHealth are working together in good faith to try and reach an agreement.  United Healthcare has said any reached agreement will NOT be finalized until after December 7th.

While we continue to hope that there is a positive resolution, the time is winding down for folks whom use EvergreenHealth to consider and evaluate all of their options for 2016 as AEP comes to a close on December 7th.
