Most of Community HealthFirst’s Medicare Advantage plan offerings were not renewed for 2016 throughout the state of Washington.   With these plans being discontinued, impacted members will qualify for a Special Election Period that gives them until the end of 2015 (December 31st, 2015) to enroll onto a plan with a January 1st, 2016 effective date.

Counties included in these cancellations (but not limited to) are Cowlitz, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, and Thurston counties.  If you are a member of one of the plans affected, you should have received a letter from Community HealthFirst advising of this change and informing you of the need to select a new plan for next year.  Please keep this letter as you may need it to enroll onto a new plan for 2016.

All enrollments to a Medicare Advantage plan or Prescription Drug plan must be completed by December 7, 2015. (Exceptions remain for special election periods.)  If your plan has been discontinued for 2016, you likely qualify for a special election period.
