CHI’s Franciscan Health has announced a major change to their contracted Medicare insurance plans for 2015. Effective January 1, 2015, CHI will no longer be contracted with Humana or Regence Medicare Advantage plans for any of their locations throughout the state of Washington.
In Kitsap county, approximately 1,500 Regence Medicare Advantage and 1,300 Humana Medicare Advantage customers will lose access to Harrison Medical Center (acquired by CHI in August 2013). In Pierce county, approximately 4,000 Humana Medicare Advantage customers will lose access to one of the largest provider networks in the county. These changes will also impact residents of other counties who utilize the providers, resources, and/or services of CHI.
CHI continues to be contracted with a number of Medicare Advantage plans throughout their service area, providing its patients with plenty of choices. If you have been impacted by these changes or would simply like to review your options, our agents are here to help. We will work with you to find plans that your providers accept and best fit your needs.
