We have started to hear some grumblings and rumors out there that many businesses will see a significant increase in their healthcare premiums come 2014. While some businesses may continue to subsidize their employee’s healthcare significantly, many may be forced to pass these cost increases on directly to their employees. There might be a way that we can help you reduce the impact of these rumored increases…

One way that businesses can try to reduce costs is to encourage employees of Medicare age to strongly consider enrolling into Medicare and selecting a Medicare Insurance product. If a senior decides to enroll into Medicare, your census data may be improved and your overall rates for your remaining employees may decrease.

Of note, you cannot force your employees to enroll into Medicare. But you can suggest they consider all of their insurance options including Medicare.
