As part of our ongoing commitment to our providers and their patients, we recently conducted a survey to ascertain the most effective way to reach those beneficiaries approaching age 65 and preparing for Medicare. The survey did furnish us with very useful information we would like to share. For example we found:

80% prefer working with their insurance agent over the phone or via electronic media
46% began their research three months prior to their 65th birthday
34% began their research prior to six months in advance
45% reported they wished they would have started research sooner
65% recall receiving a Welcome to Medicare letter from their provider
